Alex Skipper (Assistant Director)

Q: Have you ever performed Shakespeare before?

A: No, I never have and I never want to. But if Iago was a female I would play her.

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: To have a greater respect and better understanding of Shakespeare and more about directing.

Q: Who is your favorite Shakespeare character?

A: Iago (Othello)

Mariah Baideme (Bianca)

Q: Have you ever performed Shakespeare before?

A: Yes

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: More than I learned lasy year.

Q: Who is your favorite Shakespeare character?

A: Juliet

John Bryan (Director)

Q: Have you ever performed Shakespeare before?

A: A lot. There’s only a few roles that I haven’t done--the boring ones. But I’ve never been in Titus Andronicus and I really want to.

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: To have a deeper understanding of the work itself and to draw out the subtleties and complexity of the language.

Q: Who is your favorite Shakespeare character?

A: Aaron the Moor, Puck, Titus Andronicus, Richard III, Prospero, Desdemona, Grave Digger (Hamlet), and Fortinbras (Hamlet)

Blair Cadden (Kate)

Q: Have you ever performed Shakespeare before?

A: I was in Romeo and Juliet at Threshold last summer, plus studying with some great Shakespeare teachers in college.

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: I'm really looking forward to getting the text of this particular play. It can be such a problematic play, especially for women and feminists, so I'm excited to see John's unique take on it and to find what other messages we can pull from it.

Q: Who is your favorite Shakespeare character?

A: Tamora, Queen of the Goths from "Titus Andronicus". One of the toughest female characters ever written, and fantastically evil to boot.

Margaret Nyland (The Widow)

Q: Have you ever performed Shakespeare before?

A: Yes

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: It’s always three prongs: I want to learn and grow by working with the actors (some of whom I know and others I don’t), working with the director, and also in the way that once you work on a piece you really know the piece.

A: Yes

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: I want to increase my knowledge of Shakespeare and the language of Shakespeare.

A: Romeo

A: In a vague sense I want to learn how to be a better actor.

A: Yes. I’ve been in Romeo and Juliet and I’ve also done some monologues and scenes.

A: More about the language and text, understanding emphasis; understanding what I’m saying.

A: Puck or Juliet

A: Yes, too many times.

Q: What do you hope to learn from this workshop production?

A: Difficult to answer. I always learn something new, stuff that I never would have thought of. I could learn anything. It’s hard to say.

A: Macbeth

Q: Where do you hope that this program will go?

A: I hope to see this keep running, continue to educate people and make them see that Shakespeare is not as taxing as it seems; to teach them what Shakespeare can be and what it is.

A: No, but very excited to be on stage with this wonderful cast.

A: I hope to learn more about the text and how it effects movement, emphasis, and character development.
